About Manny Espitia

Born in Santa Ana, California in 1989 to Mexican immigrant parents, Manny Espitia's story embodies the American Dream. His parents, who came to the United States undocumented and without completing high school, worked tirelessly to create opportunities for their children. Today, one son is an automotive specialist in electric vehicles, while Manny has built a career in public service and political organizing. He recently welcomed his first child, Mateo, whose heritage spans Mexican, Colombian, and Puerto Rican roots.

A Princeton graduate, Manny's political journey began as a grassroots activist with NARAL-NH. Since then, he has dedicated over 12 years to strengthening Democratic representation at every level of government, from school board to presidential campaigns. His work has helped shape the political landscape of New Hampshire and beyond.

Leadership & Achievements

As Executive Director of the Nashua Democratic City Committee, Manny led historic victories in 2018, securing all 27 Democratic State Representative seats, two State Senate seats, and an Executive Council position—an unprecedented sweep. During his tenure as President of the New Hampshire Young Democrats, he helped elect over 100 young Democrats to local and state office while raising more than $160,000 for the organization.

Currently serving as the Northern Regional Director at Run for Something, Manny supports 18-40 year old Democrats running for local and state office. His work has contributed to the success of groundbreaking leaders including Delaware Congresswoman Sarah McBride, former State Senator Chloe Maxmin, and DNC Vice Chair Pennsylvania State Representative Malcolm Kenyatta.

Public Service

Manny's commitment to public service extends beyond organizing. As a State Representative and Democratic Floor Leader, he successfully fought against Right to Work legislation and helped protect abortion rights despite a Republican majority. He currently serves as a Public Works Commissioner in Nashua, making history as the first Latino to hold this position.

His service to the Democratic Party includes roles on the NHDP Platform Committee and the Blue Hampshire Task Force, where he participated in dozens of listening sessions across the state. He has also served as Vice Chair and Treasurer for the Nashua Democratic City Committee.

Historic Candidacy

If elected, Manny would become the first Latino party officer in the history of the NH Democratic Party, following trailblazers like JoAnne Dowdell and Maitri Chittidi, who became the first African American and Asian American party officers. This milestone represents his commitment to expanding representation and strengthening constituency caucuses for AAPI, African American and Black American, Latino, LGBTQIA+, and young communities within the party.

Personal Connection

One of Manny's proudest moments as a State Representative came when visiting fourth-grade students from his district. When asked if he spoke Spanish and he replied in their language, the students' faces lit up with excitement. This moment crystallized the importance of representation—showing young people that leaders can look like them and share their experiences.

The son of immigrants, a grassroots organizer, and a proven leader, Manny Espitia brings both the experience and vision needed to strengthen the New Hampshire Democratic Party from the ground up. His candidacy represents not just historical progress, but a commitment to building an inclusive, effective party that can win at every level.
